Sentinel Staff

The NIC Sentinel’s staff poses at the end of spring semester. The magazine they produced won third in the nation for best 2-year feature magazine.

North Idaho College’s student news organization The Sentinel won third place for best Two-Year Feature Magazine of the Year.

“We had some growing pains transitioning from a newspaper to magazine, but I’m glad to see our best issue yet get recognition,” Sentinel adviser Geoff Carr said. “I cannot wait to see what my students have in store for their December edition.”

The College Media Association’s Pinnacle College Media Awards recognize overall excellence in student-produced college media, which includes college newspapers, websites, magazines, yearbooks and radio or television stations. This year, CMA judged 446 total organizational entries from 186 colleges and universities.

CMA presented its awards at the annual ACP/CMA media convention in Washington, D.C.
