North Idaho College President Rick MacLennan and members of the NIC Athletics Department and NIC Booster Club were presented with a check for $3,445.79 in NIC’s Christianson Gym Saturday from the Coeur d’Alene Crossing 2.4, LLC.

The Coeur d’Alene Crossing is a 2.4-mile open water swim on Lake Coeur d’Alene that benefits three local nonprofits including the NIC Booster Club, Union Gospel Mission and Coeur d’Alene Area Swim team. Representatives from all three nonprofits were on hand to accept donations of the same amount during halftime of the NIC men’s basketball game against Yakima Valley College.

More than 20 area businesses made contributions to ensure the swim event was a success, including Idaho Central Credit Union, Parker Subaru and the Coeur d’Alene Resort, among others.
